Klever – kitchen knives since 1936
To make the preparation of vegetables "child's" play, Klever offers two new peeling knives that can be combined with three different blades.
Klever knives and peelers bring quality and add a splash of colour to modern kitchens.
In 1936, Ernst Klever founded a small enterprise in the garage of his home in Solingen, Germany.
At the time, Klever specialised in manufacturing household and office items from bakelite. The first injection moulding machine for thermoplastics was bought in 1953.
Among the first articles produced by the new machine were plastic knife handles, which were moulded onto steel strip blades of varying length.
In 1971, Klever's son-in-law, Udo Müller-Sohler, took on the direction of the family company, then in its second generation.
Full of ideas and enthusiasm, Müller-Sohler extended the range of products. Müller-Sohler's first creation, his own range of knives, was launched and marketed successfully under the trademark "Silberband" (silver strip). Klever GmbH went on to become an established player and had built up a reputation as a reliable supplier in Solingen's knife industry.
In 1998, Stefan Müller-Sohler, the third generation in the business, joined the family company as a second managing partner. Today, all across Germany, Klever GmbH is one of the most successful "no-name" cutlery manufacturers (for kitchen knives) from Solingen. Knives and peelers are distributed and sold to the retail trade under various brand names by well-known wholesale companies in Germany and abroad.
